Morgan Motor Company’s newly established Plus line, launching in January 2023, places a sharp focus on inimitable style and design, with extensive updates to the Plus Four and Plus Six models. The changes promise to create an exciting yet luxurious experience for drivers and passengers, whether they venture to the cars’ sporting limits or enjoy it on a leisurely drive.
Embracing cutting-edge technology while simultaneously staying true to Morgan’s philosophy of traditional craftsmanship and timeless design, ‘Plus’ represents 70 years of heritage. The unique style and design of the Plus Four and Plus Six embody this spirit in their own iconic ways.
The epitome of craftsmanship, the design of the Plus models is timeless and enduring, with the Plus Four and Plus Six recognisable in their own stunningly distinctive manners. The Plus Four, with its narrow body, takes design inspiration from past Morgan models, whereas the wider Plus Six encompasses a more contemporary aesthetic, offering customers a choice of style that can be embellished through an immersive and cohesive specification process.

“The new Morgan Plus line celebrates sublime style, design and ethical engineering, resulting in a truly unique and invigorating driving experience.. With Plus we want to attract those individuals who appreciate character, authenticity, and pleasure, delivered via exhilarating driving engagement.”
Massimo Fumarola, Chief Executive Officer, Morgan Motor Company
Style and comfort
At the heart of the upgrades are the changes to the interior, which centre on the experience of both drivers and passengers. A plethora of aesthetic changes are supported by a focus on increased usability, with the continued introduction of technology providing crucial information for the driver.
Customers have the choice of a range of eye-catching veneer options that extend through the vehicle via the centre console, a reminder of Morgan’s unyielding commitment to craftsmanship while celebrating the natural materials and form that are synonymous with the brand. Alongside this celebration of traditional style and design, the Plus line also embraces the aesthetics and practicality of modernity and state-of-the-art technology. A new aluminium dashboard offers drivers a simplified view, with a new LCD information display screen incorporated. Upgraded screen graphics, increased resolution and driving mode dependant backdrops are a few of the technological advances that the Plus line embraces.

Aesthetic improvements flow throughout the cabin of the Plus line models, the steering wheel now available with a satin polished centre, a solid wooden lower rail that is configurable in a range of finishes and colours. Hand crafted finishes to the glovebox, seats and door cards mean the interior is enveloped in bespoke and carefully detailed design, leaving drivers and passengers to take pleasure in the style and elegance that surrounds them.
Even the smallest details are meticulously designed, with the sparing use of leather accentuating its quality, while upgrades to the doors make the Plus models an inviting and memorable experience, right from the moment you take your seat behind the wheel. The new bolt-action door handle leaves a lasting impression as you exit the vehicle, and is one of the many nuances that encourage your next drive.
An aural experience
The embrace of technology that ebbs and flows throughout the cockpit of the Plus models is perhaps best encapsulated by the introduction of a pioneering audio system from Sennheiser. This new sound system elevates the aural experience of driving a Morgan, with the invisible speakers creating an enveloping soundstage that offers a truly unique soundtrack to those unforgettable drives. So, whether you’re listening to a bespoke playlist on a road trip, or a podcast on a drive with friends, the Sennheiser audio system will provide the sharp, crystal-clear clarity that makes those journeys memorable.
“The Plus line in 2023 presents a marked evolution of the four-wheeled Morgan, bringing new levels of driving excitement in an invigorating blend of luxurious comfort and sporting engineering.
“The design team is fortunate to work in proximity with mechanical and quality engineers, as well as the craftsmen at Pickersleigh Road. Designers can deliver solutions that envelope a clear understanding of constraints and opportunities. Through this understanding, we have been able to introduce sizeable new technologies and features, whilst also enhancing the perceived quality of Morgan Plus cars.
“A holistic whole vehicle study has considered the more significant changes, through to multiple more nuanced design updates – the increased impression of quality will be evident.”

A dynamic driving experience
Underpinning the values of Morgan Motor Company, the Plus line encapsulates the excitement and joy that driving should bring, regardless of your experience and requirements as a driver. Whether you are a petrolhead or someone looking for a unique vehicle to take them on their next adventure, the Plus line focuses on the experience of those in the cockpit.
Morgan’s in-house engineering team has worked with industry leading external partners to ensure the continual dynamic evolution of Plus models. Throughout this process, the key principles of the Morgan driving experience have remained paramount, alongside requirements for future technology, safety, and legislation.
Dynamic enhancements to Plus models cater to drivers of all experience and expertise levels, particularly with the introduction of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and all-new braking system, developed alongside Continental and AP Racing. These offer variable levels of driving assistance that provide both comfort in your drive, and the potential to explore the models’ sporting character.
The AP Racing braking system is all-new and has been developed alongside the ESC programme to deliver high-performance braking.
Bespoke gearbox calibrations have been developed, in partnership with BMW, for the automatic variant of Plus Four and Plus Six models respectively. Gearbox calibrations receive further intelligence and are integrated deeper into the vehicle, adapting to feedback from control systems throughout.
In ‘normal’ driving mode, four calibrations will adapt gear shifting based on brake pressure and steering angle. In ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport+’ modes, a further four calibrations, programmed to be more dynamic, will adapt gear shifting, also based on brake pressure and steering angle.
New hill detection uses an accelerometer and driver torque demand to automatically select a lower gear for steep inclines. In addition to aiding drivability and increasing performance, the new calibrations also deliver an increase in efficiency.
The addition of new suspension dampers and bushes completes the dynamic enhancements to Plus models. The new bush rating will deliver further refinement over low-frequency road undulations, whilst the new dampers improve ride compliance, progressive rate, and high-speed performance.
The addition of airbags, fitted as part of the standard specification, reinforce the company’s commitment to continually developing and evolving its products. Situated behind the new aluminium dashboard and within the steering wheel, the new addition represents a significant engineering project and exceeds the homologation requirements for the vehicle.
“Above all, Morgan sports cars should be fun to drive, providing occupants with a unique and memorable experience, regardless of how they choose to drive the car. Our latest introductions celebrate these qualities, whilst also increasing the level of safety, and future-proofing our models against everchanging legislative requirements. As should be the case with cars that evoke feelings of pure exhilaration, our Plus models are a celebration of the most progressive and high-quality technology, showcasing our commitment to continual evolution.”
Matt Hole, Chief Technical Officer, Morgan Motor Company
Individuality celebrated
No two Morgan cars are ever the same and the new Plus line celebrates individuality and entices owners to commission their own bespoke Plus model, selecting from an almost endless list of possibilities. Each customer is presented with the opportunity to bring their dream to reality and create a true one-off, reflecting their own individual style and taste.
To help prospective clients on their commissioning journey, Morgan’s design team has created a series of specification themes that help bring each model to life. These specifications reflect the environs that Morgan cars frequent, and celebrate the versatile nature of Morgan design.
Specification themes include Nordic, Riviera, Britannia, Stateside, Alpine and Urban, with each one being selectable on Morgan’s online configurator from early 2023.
Paying homage to the company’s rooting in motorsport and trialling success, 12 new graphic packs – including roundels, bonnet stripes and strikethrough numbers – will be available for 2023 models. Adding a further method of personalisation, all graphics are available in white, black and clear vinyl. Owners will also have the option to select from a ‘pilot’ and ‘co-pilot’ call sign to be situated on the exterior of the vehicle.
Morgan’s latest introductions will be produced from January 2023, with prospective customers being invited to begin their own bespoke Plus commission from today.
